Completed Projects in Armenia

  • Hired a part-time representative to support our projects in-country 
  • Built strong relationships with the Ministry of Health and local NGOs
  • COVID supplies to four major hospitals in Yerevan (masks & cannulas of various types)
  • High-volume oxygen concentrators to nursing homes in Gyumri and Vardenis
  • 40-foot container of medical supplies and equipment for two hospitals
  • Support for Armenian soldiers and families via durable equipment to several hospitals (x-rays, c-arms, anesthesia machines, orthopedic devices, braces)
  • Major supporter of the new oxygen generator at Alikhanyan National Laboratory “So that the people of Armenia will never again be short of Oxygen”
  • Key organizer of rehab conference / training workshops; Telemedicine sessions between the US / Armenia
  • In-home oxygen concentrators program (20 units)  – Shoonch
  • Medical missions by AAMA members / Individual traveler program
  • Subscriptions to DynaMed and UpToDate for the Medical Library, NIH, and two other hospitals

    • Digital radiography X-ray machine; portable ultrasound unit, anesthesia machines, vital sign monitors, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitors, defibrillators, EKG units, C-arm w/table, ventilators, orthopedic hardware/dermatomes, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Fully equipped operating room
  • Pallets of COVID supplies and PPEs
  • 80 oxygen concentrators and ancillary supplies
  • Medical missions by AAMA members / Individual traveler program

Representative Ongoing and Future Work

  • Complete HBO installation and training in Artsakh
  • CME programs including work with ICPD (PROJECT COST $10,000)
  • Grant Program
    • Tufenkian Foundation “Artsakh Combat Casualty Care” to provide training in Artsakh for triage and emergency care for combat injuries in order to minimize trauma and reduce casualties  [$10,000]   
    • Viva Charity Foundation “Prenatal Screening” to provide prenatal genetic screening for mothers of all ages residing in the Shirak Marz [$5,000]   
    • Program expanded for next year (4 grants totaling $50K, one each at $5K, $10K, $15K, and $20K)
  • Opportunities for US-based Armenian healthcare students to undertake training in the Marzes (Lori), supported by and in collaboration with COAF medical facilities [$25,000]
