Overview of AAMA Grant Program Winners 2022

AAMA is please to announce and congratulate the winners of its 2022 Healthcare Grant Program

The Boston-based Armenian American Medical Association (AAMA) collaborates with colleagues both in the United States and abroad to improve the delivery of healthcare, medical education, and research in Armenia. The AAMA board has approved the establishment of two AAMA grants that will be open to all individuals, organizations, and non-profits doing health care work in Armenia or Artsakh.

The goal of the proposed project should align with the following:

  • To promote disease prevention strategies and healthy behavior
  • To improve the status of health care and its delivery
  • To establish health programs in places where there are none
  • To develop evidence-based health care educational and/or training programs

Winner #1:

  • Organization: Tufenkian Foundation
  • Project: Artsakh Combat Casualty Care
  • Overview: Provide training in Artsakh for triage and emergency care for combat injuries in order to minimize trauma and reduce casualties
  • Award amount: $10,000

Winner #2:

  • Organization: Viva Charity Foundation
  • Project: Prenatal Screening
  • Overview: Provide prenatal genetic screening for mothers of all ages residing in the Shirak Marz
  • Award amount: $5,000
